Apprenticeship catering specialist (m/f/d)
Catering specialists have mastered the basics of catering: they greet and advise guests, serve drinks and food and cash up. Catering specialists are the face and voice of their establishment to guests. Their job is to create the guest experience, to be friendly and knowledgeable advisors, salespeople and carers. To this end, they also learn the basics about food and its use in the catering trade in the kitchen, as well as everything important about the design and care of guest rooms.
Training as a catering specialist has a dual structure and only takes two years. You alternate between attending vocational school and the training company.
This is what you will learn during your apprenticeship:
- Sell and serve food and drinks in the restaurant
- Prepare and serve food and drinks in the kitchen
- Welcoming and looking after guests
- Taking reservations
- Preparing and checking guest rooms
- Store goods properly and monitor stock levels
- Assist in sales
